I got so many comments after our etip about losing electricity in the middle of stitching out a design that I wanted to make one more comment. In addition to using a surge protector, it is a wise idea to also invest in a battery backup system. These systems will power your machine in the case of a total electrical failure. Look for one that will give you enough time to write down where you are in your design, save the design, and shut everything down properly. If your sewing machine dealer does not carry them, look for them in your local computer or office supply store.
