![]() I am attempting to use metallic threads to stitch out lace ornaments. I have seen them in my local shop but I can not get my machine to stitch more than a few hundred stitches without the thread breaking and/or breaking a needle. The instructions say to use the same thread in the bobbin as on the top, I find that I have better success if I use a bobbin thread in the bobbin, but then the ornaments are not two sided. Is there a special needle to use that would ease my pain?I have stitched the same ornaments using Isacord with no difficulties. It may be your needle and the thread you are using. Use an Organ Embroidery Needle, Size 80/12 Sharp for use with wash away stabilizer. Use YenMet Metallic Thread in the top and the bobbin. This is the only combination I would recommend for doing stand alone lace ornaments with metallic threads. Happy "Em"broidering, Emma do a test sewout and those who wish they had! Got a question?
