Hi

You wrote in an etip that if you want to remove a washaway stabilizer you can use a steam iron and a towel and you don't have to wet the article entirely.

Well today in our Embroidery Club we tried it. The Aqua Film and BadgeMaster water soluble backing worked. But it did not work with the Aqua Mesh stabilizer. Please let everyone know which works and which doesn't to keep them from using the wrong type.
Thanks,
Jacque

In a previous tip I told you about the process of removing topping using a steam iron and a towel. It's very difficult to think of every type of situation that might be tried when I'm explaining a process and sometimes things are misconstrued. I realize this will happen from time to time.

AquaMesh is a water soluble stabilizer. It has many uses but because of the way AquaMesh is made, it must be immersed in water in order for it to be dissolved. This applies to AquaMesh Plus as well. The clear water soluble stabilizers, such as AquaFilm Topping, AquaFilm Backing, and Badgemaster, can be torn away. I use these when I don't want to immerse the project in water since I can tear most of it away. I can't tear the AquaMesh away, therefore it's going to stay there until it gets completely wet.

That's the difference between the two water soluble stabilizers OESD carries. They are both good stabilizers, but remember that you will need to immerse the AquaMesh products, but you can tear (carefully, of course!) most of the AquaFilm products away.
